Sports Expo

October 27, 2022

In line with Egypt’s 2030 Vision of youth empowerment and propelling the future of sports development and investment forward, the highly anticipated Sports Expo 2023, organized by DeltaConex, under the patronage of President Abdelfattah El Sisi and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will kick off on the 11th – 14th of January. Held annually, the expo will be the largest of its kind in the Middle East and Africa, creating discourse among the most prominent investors, decision makers and industry leaders in the public and private sectors of the sports industry. The exhibition will feature a wide array of brands that cater to every aspect of a sports enthusiast’s life ranging from healthy food brands to sportswear, equipment, and clubs.

In tandem with the expo, the first edition of the annual conference will transform the landscape of the sports industry by driving impactful change and paving the road for a successful 2036 Olympics in Egypt. Topics of discussion will include new trends and ideas in the sports training industry, the future of sports media, features of future stadiums, as well as green construction and campus athletic facilities. Through fruitful conversations, we will build a sustainable sports infrastructure in addition to a bank of knowledge that will help us prepare future Olympic champions. The conference is headed by Dr. Kamal Darwish, President of the Science Committee at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

A national initiative titled “Break your Record” was created as the primary promotional tool for this mega event. In an attempt to reestablish the value of practicing sports as well its importance for physical and psychological wellbeing in Egyptian minds, fun sports activations will be held throughout the year across public areas, famous touristic destinations, youth gathering areas, malls, schools, and universities. These activations will set the scene for the expo by promoting a healthy environment of sports participation and competitions through partnerships with public and private sectors.

Following the astounding success of the “Break your Record” world bicycle day activation, with 25,000 cyclist participants, the “Break your Record” Alamein Sports Festival was held on the 11th of August 2022 with more than 5,000 participants from different governorates. The festival began with a race in Alamein, next to the Arena, followed by a 250-meter swim and bike race, in addition to competitions in football, handball, table tennis, running marathon, arch & arrow, rowing, and fitness.

The third Break Your Record activation was GUC Break Your Record Olympics. The event was held at The German University in Cairo between the 16th to the 21st of October 2022 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the GUC. This activation will include a 7-step obstacle course along with 4 skill games.

Coming up soon immediately after GUC is the activation at the American University in Cairo on the 22nd to the 27th of October 2022 where our ultimate challenge obstacle course and skill games will be set along with the AUC annual marathon with 1000 registered participants.

CEO of DeltaConex, Hazem Hamada, expressed his pride, stating, “We are grateful for the opportunity to bring the largest sports event in the Middle East and Africa to the light,” adding, “this event will serve as a new dawn of innovation in the region within the field of sports.” He emphasized the importance of integrating sports within the Egyptian culture as well as their commitment to their role in influencing social development and supporting the economy through managing and organizing impactful international events.
